First off, I’ll never get used to this new wordpress. I can’t for the life of me figure out how to go back to the old template and it’s driving me nuts!
But that aside, things have been hectic and life has sped forward with an intensity that is equally troubling as it is tiring. Life as a articling student (soon-to-be lawyers in 3.5 months!!!), manuscript-writer, and Soompi features writer is…something else. So naturally, this blog has been slightly neglected (but not forgotten!). Hello again!
It’s my name! My name on Soompi! This still sends me into a state of awe. I’m honestly so grateful!
I’m LOVING the Soompi features gig. Honestly, I would probably be delighted if this could ever become my day job. Being paid to write Kdrama reviews? My personal idea of heaven right there. The lawyer job…umm…not as delighted. Little about helping rich people get richer delights me. But let’s just say my financial situation is horrendous and I sure have to do something to lift my family out of poverty, so working for corporate overlords it is.
But enough of my personal woes and only my writerly work these past few months! I’ve written a grand total of 5 articles for Soompi, which is a pretty big deal to me given how long it takes me to finish them up. What I love about the job is I can go beyond the recaps I generally put on this site.
Not that I don’t love recapping, but translating information from video to text can be a little repetitive at times. However, with reviews, I get to engage in the sort of analysis and probing that I would otherwise be too tired for, post-recap. I’m going to start getting in the practice of linking the articles I post on this website so those looking for my signature style of writing (it’s ambitious of me to even believe there are many such people but let a girl hope) can find them.
